Role Purpose 

The Collections Agent  is responsible for ensuring the collections department achieves its objectives by efficiently managing accounts in arrears, minimizing non-performing loans, and providing excellent service to clients. This role requires a proactive approach to identify effective solutions for past-due accounts that benefit both the borrower and the organization, while supporting overall financial performance and collections initiatives. 

Responsibilities 

  • Maintain an efficient and effective collections process to achieve department goals.
  • Execute timely direct debits and reconcile collection accounts accurately.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to develop strategic solutions for past-due accounts.
  • Monitor collection trends and recommend improvements to increase recovery rates.
  • Implement innovative solutions to enhance collections efficiency when necessary.

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Extensive experience with standard collections procedures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, professional, and objective in challenging situations.
  • Familiarity with the banking industry and commitment to high integrity.
  • Experience in a financial institution in a similar role is an added advantage.
  • Strong team player with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of personnel.
